His Cry

Lyrics

Verse 1
He was not a silent baby
It was not a silent night (Luke 2:8-17)
And Jesus did not have a silent birth
But if you listened, maybe
Above the noise, you might
Have heard the voice that spoke and made the earth (John 1:1-3, John 1:14, Gen. 1:9-10, Ps. 33:6)

Chorus
Come hear the greatest wonder
This world has ever known
It is the very voice of God most High
More powerful than thunder
More royal than a throne
This is your King – come listen to His cry (John 18:37, I Tim. 6:15, Rev. 17:14, Rev. 19:16)

Verse 2
Come see another story
A spectacle of death
This King is hung upon a cross, because
His death will bring us glory
And with His final breath
He shouted, “It is finished!” and it was (John 19:30)

Repeat chorus

Verse 3
There will be a cry at midnight
Loud enough to wake the dead
A shout of triumph rings across the land (I Thess. 4:16, John 5:28-29)
Come, dead, and leave your gravesite
Come, living, leave your bed
Arise, O Church, your Bridegroom is at hand! (Matt. 25:6, Rev. 19:6-11)

Repeat chorus
