Eagerly Await

Lyrics

Verse 1
Once You set the stars in motion
Then You said that they were good
All creation sang the glory of the King
Now is Heaven in commotion?
Are we nearing Your return?
Do the morning stars remember how to sing?

Chorus
We eagerly await Your coming
Eagerly await to see
Eagerly await becoming all You’ve said we’ll be
How much longer will You tarry?
How much longer will we wait?
In every street and cemetery
We will hear the call for which we eagerly await

Verse 2
You have given us a longing
Nothing on this earth can fill
Deep within our hearts we know we don’t belong
You have made us for belonging
Nothing less can satisfy
So till the day we join the morning stars in song

Repeat chorus

Bridge
All Your saints are ready to rejoice
How long till we hear Your voice?

Repeat chorus 2x

Song Story

A few years ago, I released an album of songs from the book of Genesis, “Somewhere East of Eden.” I decided to start making lyric videos for these songs. Here’s the first one, “Eagerly Await!”

Rom. 8:19: “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.”

Rom. 8:23: “Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.”

Phil. 3:20: “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ”
